Week 130: 2.5 Years in Austria

We reached our 2.5 year anniversary of living abroad on April 20th. Living abroad has opened our minds to different perspectives, expanded our comfort zones, and challenged us to become more resilient and adaptable. We have created memories, gained a global perspective, and developed a sense of independence that will stay with us forever. Knowing how quickly this first 2.5 years has gone by makes us want to make the most of these next 2.5.

To celebrate this milestone and the nice weather, we went to Salzburg for an afternoon of shopping and Mexican food, which is a rare food genre in this country. Die Cabreras is one of two options in the city and it did not disappoint.

Another way I am hoping to make the next 2.5 years better than the first is by really integrating into our community and finding ways to meet more people and make more friends. Like I have mentioned in a few recaps, I have joined a local softball team and have been busy the last two weeks volunteering my time and talent to design posters, brochures, banners, social assets, etc. for Europe’s Largest Baseball and Softball FestivalFINKSTONBALL. This tournament by day/concert festival by night is held at the field where I am now coaching and playing.

Here is the video from 2022 and I am looking forward to being apart of it this year!

Three more things to note for this weeks recap…

  • I finally finished our other Jordan video. Click here to watch it on YouTube

  • I made it to the third and final round of interviews for a full-time job at an advertising agency.

  • We leave for Mallorca next week! So like the majority of our blog posts this year, the next recap will be delayed.
